Let my start by introducing myself I’m Shean.  I’m currently taking a masters degree called Creative Media Practice at Bournemouth University. I’ve been looking for a course like this for about two years, that would give me the right qualification and challenge me area of my expertise.

I have my own business called Tehillah Production.  I provide music and TV production to individual clients, companies, organisations, basically to anyone who needs it.

In 1997 I received a start-up loan from the Prince’s Youth Business Trust, at first my main focus was on Gospel music workshops teaching singing in schools and colleges. My business has developed and moved on from where it begun into Production.  At present the focus is on video production for TV, DVD and the Internet.

What I want to be a Master of

When I was asked by my course leader Jon Wardle to post a blog about “What do you want to be a master of? “ on refection I remember a friend once nicknamed me Jack because he observed that everything I laid my hands on I could do.  Having had experience in a lot of different areas, I found it very difficult to think of what I want to be a master of.

Being multi skilled does have a plus side especially when I have a low budget threshold, it also cone in handy working on my own gives me the opportunity to check and doubled check everything I do, from sound to picture, gen lock to time code, and so on.

What am I going to be a master of?

I’d like to focus on program making, specifically editing, editing is my first love when it comes to the program making, and editing was the first thing I learnt to do.

Over the next 15 months I’m looking forward to concentrating on this discipline, taking it to another dimension not only my area of work but in all the things I do, which I must say is working already. I believe that by the end of this course I shall be ready for any challenge that comes my way and my level of work will increase 10 fold.
